I'm Stevie, a birth & postpartum doula, placenta encapsulator, mama of 2, step mama of 2, cocker spaniel mum and all round birth nerd! I love to spend time with my kids, being outdoors and cheering them on at their many sports. You will find me walking along my local beach with my doggo each morning, soaking in the beauty of the Illawarra and occasionally swimming in the ocean.
I qualified to become a birth and postnatal doula in early 2023, studying at the Australian Doula College. Before this I was a stay at home mama for 9 years, having previously worked extensively around Australia in hospitality management.
I found my passion for pregnancy and birth when I was pregnant with my daughter Hazel. I found myself deep diving into the world of pregnancy, birth and parenthood and could never satisfy my desire to learn more on these topics. After a challenging but rewarding birth, my passion grew deeper as I learnt to parent my daughter through breastfeeding (and our many feeding challenges).
After the birth of my second child Leo, I found myself suddenly a single parent. In this difficult time, I had my village turn up for me in a way that I could have only dream of, supporting me around the clock to ensure both myself and my children had everything we needed both physically and emotionally. It was after coming out of the other side of this that I felt a deep desire to give back, I wanted to give to other women what I had received. Unconditional support in my postpartum!
I now feel so extremely lucky that I get to support women on their journey through pregnancy, birth and beyond. Helping not only mum, but dad, other children and extended family come together and feel supported, nurtured and empowered on their families biggest transition.
